STAFF
|
Steve has been involved in music ministry for over 50 years having sung as a boy in the St. Paul’s Cathedral Choir in Worcester, Massachusetts. He arrived at Saint Patrick’s in 2004 having previously been Director of Music at Sacred Heart Church in Bloomfield, Connecticut. Steve directs the Parish Choir, Bereavement Choir, Handbell choirs and Cantate, assists with the Spanish Choir, and acts as the Artistic Director for the Music for Charity Series. He is also responsible for planning music for Sunday/Holy Day liturgies. Steve is also a published composer of choral music.

Anne joined the music ministry staff in 2003 having been previously a parishioner for 2 years. She holds a B.A. (Hons.) in music from Bristol University, England. Anne directs the Choristers program, has primary responsibility for the cantors and is closely involved with the music for school liturgies and Vacation Bible School, in addition to assisting with the Music Series and general administration of the music ministry. Anne is also one of the church’s cantors.

Mary Anne, a retired high school choral director and Department Chair from Connecticut, has returned to her true love, teaching private piano lessons. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Pedagogy; a Bachelor of Music Education; a Certificate in Fine Arts Administration and a Master of Education degrees. Steve’s wife, she has been the accompanist for CANTATE and plays for Masses when needed.

Julie is a parishioner, a former piano teacher and has a degree in Music Therapy. She has 3 young children and served as interim organist during a previous search process. She has sung with the Parish Choir and Cantate, and has long been involved in the music ministry.

CANTORS
|
Johanna is a Junior at Massey Hill Classical High School. She has been a parishioner since the age of 2 and is a graduate of Saint Patrick School. The church has become one of the places where she feels at home.
|
Nan is probably the longest serving cantor on the roster. A manager for Best Buy, both her children and grand-children have also been involved in the music ministry here.
|
Andrea is presently a music education major at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Baptized here at Saint Patrick’s in 1991, Andrea has always been actively involved in the life of the parish. In addition to serving as a cantor, she teaches the music component of Sunday morning religious education.
|
Vince Mescall is not only our Director of Youth Ministry but also a long time choir member and cantor. He is also responsible for the Homeworks sessions held at Saint Patrick Church. Vince is a Candidate for the Permanent Diaconate in the Diocese of Raleigh.

Lilian came to America from Cali, Columbia with her husband, Waddington, who has since passed away while in service to our country. A mother of six, she joined Saint Patrick Church in 2001 and feels that she continues to learn and grow spiritually.

Gary Southerland is a man of many talents. A middle-school math/science teacher, he not only sings but is a former air force pilot, a site-leader for Homeworks, and makes beautiful wedding cakes!

CHOIR LEADERS
|
Toni Hopkins is an Air Force wife and a mother of two. She has been involved in Music Ministry in a number of churches for about 14 years. Three of those years have been at St. Patrick as a flutist and a co-director of the St. Patrick Junior Choristers.
